WelderThis role focuses on welding metal components using a variety of welding techniques and equipment to fabricate and repair products and components in a manufacturing environment. You set up welding machines, select proper electrodes, and handle or position work pieces with or without fixtures while following established welding procedures and quality standards. You contribute to production goals by producing structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing welds and by actively participating in training and continuous improvement activities.ResponsibilitiesWeld metal components together using various welding techniques and equipment to fabricate or repair products and components.Set up welding machines, including selecting and installing the appropriate electrodes and wire for each job.Handle, position, and secure work pieces with or without the use of fixtures to ensure accurate and consistent welds.Follow Welding Procedure Specifications (WPS) to ensure weld quality, consistency, and compliance with standards.Perform Statistical Process Controls (SPCs) as required to monitor and maintain welding quality and process stability.Read and interpret drawings, blueprints, and measurements using a decimal tape to determine weld locations, dimensions, and specifications.Use hand tools and related equipment proficiently to prepare, fit, and finish welded components.Perform manual flat-position welding and ensure that all welds are structurally sound and aesthetically pleasing.Meet established production standards and output requirements, supporting the team in achieving production targets.Participate actively in company-sponsored training programs to maintain and enhance welding skills and certifications.Complete additional duties and special projects as assigned to support production, quality, or process improvement needs.Essential SkillsHigh school diploma or general education degree (GED) with an emphasis in metal shop, or one to three months of related welding experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.Current WABO Certification required, with eligibility to go direct hire contingent on holding this certification.GMAW (MIG) certification meeting at minimum: Plate FH positions, ER70S-6, 1/8" to 3/4" thickness, with backing; a higher-level certification that supersedes this requirement is also acceptable.Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and use a decimal tape accurately for measurement.Proficiency in MIG welding of steel in a production environment.Proficiency with hand tools commonly used in welding and fabrication.Experience with SMAW, GMAW, and FCAW processes, particularly in a WABO-certified capacity.Capability to produce structurally sound and visually appealing welds in flat positions.Ability to meet established production standards without extensive on-the-job training.Additional Skills & QualificationsExperience in production welding environments, particularly with hydraulic actuator or similar manufacturing applications.Comfort working with manual welding processes and maintaining consistent quality over high production volumes.Flexibility to review and present welding certifications prior to interview and weld testing, as needed.Strong attention to detail and commitment to following established welding procedures and quality requirements.Willingness to participate in ongoing training and skill development programs.Why Work Here?You join a stable manufacturing environment that values certified trade professionals and rewards performance. The welding is manual and requires both structural integrity and a high-quality aesthetic finish. All welding is performed on steel using MIG (GMAW) and related processes such as SMAW and FCAW, with WABO-certified practices and adherence to specific plate, position, and filler metal requirements. The facility operates multiple shifts: a day shift (Monday–Thursday, 5:00 a.m.–3:30 p.m., with Friday available for overtime), a swing shift (Monday–Friday, 4:00 p.m.–2:30 a.m., with Saturday available for overtime), and a weekend shift (Friday–Sunday, 4:00 a.m.–4:30 p.m.). The environment is production-focused, and welders are expected to meet established output standards without extended ramp-up time. Appropriate industrial work attire and personal protective equipment are required to ensure safety and compliance with shop standards.Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Enumclaw, WA.Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
