Koehler Instrument Company is looking for a hands-on Service Technician to support the repair, troubleshooting, calibration, and installation of laboratory testing instruments used in petroleum, petrochemical, lubricant, and materials testing laboratories.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems, solving technical problems, and supporting customers directly.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and test laboratory instruments and related equipment
- Perform equipment calibration, preventative maintenance, and service checks
- Support customer installations, training, and technical service requests
- Diagnose mechanical, electrical, temperature control, software, and instrument performance issues
- Document service work clearly, including findings, corrective actions, and parts used
- Communicate with customers in a professional and helpful manner
- Work with internal service, engineering, production, and sales teams to resolve technical issues
- Assist with incoming inspection, instrument testing, and quality-related service feedback
- Travel to customer sites as needed for installation, repair, and service support
Qualifications
- Experience with electrical, mechanical, or electronic troubleshooting
- Ability to read wiring diagrams, manuals, and technical documentation
- Strong hands-on repair skills and attention to detail
- Comfortable using basic test equipment and hand tools
- Good communication skills and a customer-focused attitude
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Prior experience with laboratory instruments, analytical equipment, HVAC, controls, or industrial equipment is a plus
- Technical school, associate degree, or equivalent hands-on experience preferred
