The Role

As a Veterinary Technician Assistant / PCA, you will be the heartbeat of our clinical floor. You will work closely with our veterinarians and technicians to ensure a smooth, efficient flow for our patients and clients. This is an active, hands-on role where you will help maintain our beautiful new facility, prepare our exam and surgical rooms, and provide crucial support during treatments.

Key Responsibilities

• Clinical Preparation: Set up our four exam rooms and surgical suite with the necessary medical supplies, instruments, and equipment for the day's appointments and procedures.
• Patient Handling: Safely and compassionately restrain pets (dogs, cats, etc.) during physical examinations, blood draws, vaccinations, and treatments.
• Laboratory Support: Assist with preparing in-house lab tests, including setting up fecals, ear cytology, and bloodwork panels.
• Patient Care: Monitor the comfort and safety of patients in our care. Walk, feed, and clean up after pets, ensuring their environment is spotless and stress-free.
• Hospital Maintenance: Take pride in our new clinic by maintaining the highest standards of cleanliness. This includes sanitizing exam rooms between patients, sterilizing surgical instruments, and managing hospital laundry and waste.
• Inventory & Stocking: Help unpack, organize, and stock incoming medical inventory and supplies to ensure the medical team always has what they need.
• Client Experience: Greet clients and pets with a positive attitude, assist with bringing patients in and out of the clinic, and provide basic education on preventive care.

Qualifications & Skills

• Experience: 1+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic, animal shelter, or boarding facility is preferred, but we are willing to train the right highly motivated candidate.
• Team Spirit: A collaborative, drama-free attitude with a strong desire to support your colleagues and learn new skills.
• Physical Ability: Must be comfortable being on your feet for long periods, bending, kneeling, and safely lifting or maneuvering up to 40-50 lbs.
• Animal Handling: Confidence in handling animals of varying sizes and temperaments, while remaining calm under pressure.
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent required.
