Department: Counseling Office
Immediate Supervisor: Counselors Job Goal: Provide a majority of the computer work in the counseling office. Answering telephone calls and taking messages; overseeing office aides by delegating work and tracking their attendance. Assist senior students in the college/scholarship application process. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Design and prepare documents in word processing files (i.e. various types of letters, memorandums, handbooks, charts, calendars, newsletters, etc.)
2. Create, prepare, and distribute various reports on the OSIRIS system. provide student lists and mailing labels for in-school personnel and approved outside but school related organizations (i.e. Booster Club, Parent Group, etc.)
3. Update and maintain student database files for addresses and the related map, street and transportation codes.
4. Provide telephone support by answering, taking messages and/or routing calls.
5. Receives students, parents and visitors in office providing assistance in answering questions, distributing materials and information.
6. Ensure all forms used in counseling office are kept current and an adequate supply remains on hand at all times.
7. Maintain calendars used for reserving conference room, testing rooms utilized for meetings, support groups and other gatherings.
8. Prepare homework requests and distribute to teachers. When homework is turned in, ensure all teachers have submitted and prepare for designated person to pick up.
9. Prepare staffing requests and notify teachers.
10. Prepare confidential grade requests, distribute to teachers, track as they are returned and contact parent(s) with information.
11. Apply minor first aid treatment as needed to students (contact school nurse if necessary).
12. Notify students of scholarship opportunities; make copies of all scholarships; type and mail scholarship applications, etc.
Length of Contract : Two hundred forty (240) days or one hundred eighty-five (185) contract days. Salary commensurate with experience on the negotiated agreement of the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
Evaluation : Performance of this job will be evaluated by the Counselors in accordance with the provisions of the Board's policies, state law, and the negotiated agreement with the Support Employees of Edmond (SEE).
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITES:
None.

EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS:

LANGUAGE SKILLS:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups, staff, parents, and the general public.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:
Ability to plan budgets and use the mathematical skills required to do so. Maintain accurate records and support documentation for projects under the supervision of the position.
REASONING SKILLS:
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
Ability to use computer and computer related programs and other technologies needed to perform essential job functions. Ability to apply knowledge of current research and theory. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with students, staff, and the community. Ability to organize and chair or facilitate committees and meetings. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely both in oral and written form. Ability to perform duties with awareness of all district requirements and Board of Education policies.

- Process and check college applications for completeness and accuracy. Obtain official transcripts, etc.
- Assist in setting up Senior Awards program.
