Come join us and help shape the future!WSP is currently initiating a search for a LeadElectrical Engineer for our Boston, MA office.Provides high level technical assistance and guidance for design of electrical systems including lighting, controls, fire alarm and power distribution for Healthcare, Life Science, Industrial, and Commercial scale projects in the public and private sector. Your ImpactWork within multi-discipline project teams to develop drawings and specification documents for issuance to architects, contractors and building ownersCoordinate design activities with other multi-discipline project team membersDesign of electrical power and emergency power systemsDesign of fire alarm and life safety systemsDesign of lighting and lighting control systemsScheduling and selection of electrical components and equipmentPerform electrical load, short circuit and voltage drop calculationsConstruction administration phase servicesAttend client and other stakeholder meetingsInteract with regulatory agencies, subcontractors, and clients in a confident and professional mannerCollaborate with owners, design professionals, and other stakeholders on business development opportunities.Supervise and mentor our younger engineersExercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct, and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and proceduresPerform additional responsibilities as required by business needsWho You AreRequired QualificationsBachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or architectural engineering.7-10 of relevant post education experience as an engineer active in the design of electrical systems in industrial/pharmaceutical, laboratories, commercial, institutional/higher education, healthcare, or similar facilities.A professional engineering license is preferred.Proficient with electrical engineering principles, practices, process, design/build, and the application to permitting and project work-related issues.Extensive knowledge of electrical building design.Experience with electrical planning, design, and construction management; including active involvement in a variety of rehabilitation, renovation, new design, and construction projects.Well-defined specific knowledge of relevant engineering and electrical construction laws, codes, regulations, compliance practices, and record-keeping requirements.Well-developed ability to make technical computations and calculations involving the application of electrical engineering principles, understanding plans and specifications, and making factual comparisons to the appropriate regulations.Demonstrated effectiveness at coordinating and assertively directing subcontractors and others to consistently complete tasks safely and efficiently.Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies.Ability to work schedules conducive to project-specific requirements that may extend beyond the typical workweek.Occasional travel may be required depending on project-specific requirements.Preferred Qualifications:LEED AP CertificationFundamentals of EngineeringPrevious Healthcare, Industrial/Pharmaceutical, Commercial or Laboratory design experienceWSP Benefits:WSP provides a comprehensive suite of benefits focused on a providing health and financial stability throughout the employee’s career. Compensation:Expected Salary (all locations): $118,000- 175,230WSP USA is providing the compensation range that the company in good faith believes it might pay and offer for this position, based on the successful applicant’s education, experience, knowledge, skills, abilities in addition to internal equity and specific geographic location.
