The team creates value by optimizing cost, strengthening supplier performance, managing risk, and ensuring access to the technologies and equipment that enable Micron’s future growth!Position OverviewAs a Category Supplier Manager supporting Technology Development (TD) Capital Equipment, you will lead sourcing strategies for critical semiconductor equipment that enables next-generation technology development. You will collaborate with engineering, technology development, supply chain, and supplier partners to support first-of-a-kind (FOAK) programs, improve cost of ownership, and strengthen supplier capabilities. This is a high-impact role with visibility across the organization, offering the opportunity to influence capital investment decisions, technology roadmaps, and long-term supplier strategies.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and implement category strategies that align supplier capabilities with technology and business objectivesLead first-of-a-kind (FOAK) sourcing initiatives, including supplier evaluation, selection, business awards, and supplier commitment planningDrive cost-of-ownership (CoO) improvements through data-driven analysis, strategic negotiations, and capital efficiency initiativesAnalyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and competitive benchmarks to inform sourcing and investment decisionsLead complex commercial negotiations involving pricing, contracts, technology evaluations, and long-term supplier agreementsBuild and maintain strategic supplier partnerships that accelerate technology readiness and support business growthEstablish supplier performance frameworks, including scorecards, key performance indicators (KPIs), and continuous improvement plansPartner with engineering, technology development, operations, and supply chain teams to align sourcing strategies with technical and business requirementsFacilitate supplier governance activities, including Quarterly Business Reviews (QBRs), annual performance reviews, and executive engagementsIdentify and mitigate supply, cost, and technology risks while ensuring continuity and long-term supplier successMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field with 8+ years of experience in procurement, supply chain, supplier management, process development, equipment engineering, or a related subject areaExperience developing and performing strategic sourcing, category management, or supplier management programsExperience leading supplier negotiations, contract discussions, and commercial business agreementsDemonstrated ability to analyze complex data and translate insights into actionable business recommendationsProven experience collaborating across cross-functional teams to deliver business resultsPreferred QualificationsProfessional certification in Procurement or Supply Chain Management (e.g., CPSM, CPM, or equivalent)Experience in the semiconductor industry, including capital equipment sourcing or supplier managementExperience applying cost analysis methodologies such as should-cost modeling, total cost of ownership (TCO), or capital investment analysisExperience leading FOAK sourcing initiatives, supplier development programs, or technology evaluationsStrong communication and relationship-building skills with the ability to influence technical teams, business leaders, and executive partnersDemonstrated success managing multiple priorities and getting results in a fast-paced, dynamic environmentExperience leading supplier performance improvement initiatives that deliver measurable business impactExperience and/or interest in developing Agentic AI workflows into current or future processes.
