Job Description SUMMARY The Senior Clinical Leader is responsible for providing appropriate supervision for multiple clinics to ensure the highest quality patient care possible. The Senior Clinical Leader ensures maximum staff productivity and superior customer service for our patients. The Senior Clinical Leader ensures the proper utilization of time and movement of the patient throughout the patient visit. The Clinical Leader completes verbal and email assignments from the CEO, owners, and physician staff in a timely manner. Role includes potential Sign-On Bonus. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS Education and Experience: High school diploma or GED required Bachelor Degree or Associate Degree in a related field highly preferred Five years of ophthalmology experience required One year of management experience required Minimum COA/COT certification required JCAHPO preferred Working knowledge of human resource laws required ESSENTIAL SKILLS AND ABILITIES Must have leadership and management abilities Must have proficient computer skills Must have problem solving skills Must have excellent communication skills, proper grammar and business writing capability Must be team-oriented Must be self-directed, highly motivated, able to multi-task, work under pressure in a fast-paced environment Must be able to handle multiple projects at one time and delegate appropriately Must have exceptional interpersonal business-like skills Must possess a caring, patient and friendly attitude Must have an understanding of the use of all technical equipment within the clinic Must have complete knowledge of basic documentation requirements for the practice Must have a working knowledge of all ophthalmic terminology which includes spelling and pronunciation Must be familiar with all forms associated with the patient's medical record (paper & electronic) Must have a working knowledge of basic sterile technique Must be able to perform accurate patient workups in 20 minutes or less according to practice protocols Must be able to follow practice protocols to improve patient flow and customer service Must be able to accurately and efficiently use all equipment for patient testing DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Clinical Operations for multiple clinics Patient Flow Monitoring PFS Time studies to ensure excellent patient experiences Maximize doctor productivity with templates Patient flow Maintain Surgery scheduling Ensuring consent forms are proper Working with surgery schedulers and the ASC director Ensuring proper documentation in charts Ensuring proper order of chart preparation Maintain Biometry scheduling Monitoring IOL lens calculations Laser/Event scheduling Ensuring events are scheduled during clinic productivity for doctor and staff for the convenience of patients Hiring technicians Training and developing OD/MD scribes Ensuring accurate results for doctors and patients Monitor and coach tech productivity through time studies Maintain Technicians Performance through skill evaluations Quality of Interpretations Ensuring high execution of clinic operation task Appropriate tech coverage for all offices throughout ESMF Maintaining PTO staffing levels throughout ESMF Recommending Staffing levels appropriate for doctors' patient loads Retina medications Ensuring proper ordering Maintaining retina medications Inventory using Cubixx Training and developing OD/MD scribes Performance Management Provides management, leadership and supervision of the staff to ensure efficiency in daily operations as defined by the CEO. Maintains physician and staff daily work schedules for clinical personnel Review and update job descriptions and performance appraisal materials on a continuing basis Assigns duties and monitors quality of work; assures staff conforms to organizational policies and procedures and government regulations. In conjunction with other members of the management team, perform employee evaluations according to predetermined schedules Provides proper supervision of personnel on a daily basis Ensures all clinical personnel records are up-to-date and in compliance with federal and state laws Encourage and reward outstanding performance. When an employee's performance is deficient, take corrective action, including coaching, counseling, encouraging improvement and setting goals and timetables. In addition, handle employee relations issues including disciplinary action. Recruiting and Placement Review staffing requirements and recommend expansion of staff or downsizing of jobs as necessary Participate in interviewing and selecting personnel Conduct three-month and six-month performance reviews of new hires in a timely manner Interviewing and hiring Equipment Oversight of all ESMF ophthalmic equipment maintenance, operations and repairs Maintain vendor relationships to include pricing negotiation and partnerships Recommendations for purchasing of new and used equipment to CEO for approval ROI for all new equipment purchases when required from CEO Maintain and update inventory of all ophthalmic equipment at all ESMF locations Employment Laws Ensure compliance with laws governing employment, including affirmative action and the laws against sexual harassment Employee Relations Initiate/maintain/enhance a positive atmosphere of cooperation among the staff Resolve day-to-day employee issues Enforce and periodically review the Employee Policy and Procedures Manual for updates and changes in practice policies and procedures Conduct employee staff meetings to enhance practice communication Staff Training and Development Coaches/Develops assigned technicians to deliver Eye Specialists of Mid-Florida strategic growth and business objectives. Provides appropriate coaching, development and encouragement to front line Team Members in the assigned home office. Creates a positive environment of shared successes through coaching, developing, mentoring, and inspiring the teams to enhance performance and patient experience. Leverage patient feedback to coach the teams and leaders to further enhance the patient experience. Motivates, coaches, and inspires the teams and leaders to ensure they are the best possible brand ambassadors, consultants and vision solution experts. Sets clear expectations with timely follow ups to team members and assigned leaders. Monitor, measures, and holds the team accountable for the execution of great patient experience and operations excellence. (OZ Principle) Create positive relationships with doctors through communication, partnerships, and collaboration.
