Key Responsibilities

• Oversee communication and coordination of patient care across multiple departments including Acute Care, Birthing Center, Cancer, Wound and Infusion, Emergency Department, and Surgery; conduct daily rounding to assess and facilitate patient transfers.
• Manage patient flow between departments and assist with determining appropriate patient placement for Acute Care admissions.
• Serve as a nursing resource and mentor for staff, answering clinical questions and supporting interventions to maintain a professional work environment.
• Assist staff in providing direct patient care as needed and coordinate staffing resources between departments.
• Support after-hours pharmacy needs and activate and manage Incident Command in the event of a Mass Casualty Incident.
• Communicate with department leadership to ensure timely follow-up on behavioral expectations and operational needs.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum two-year degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred.
• Must hold and maintain a valid Wisconsin Registered Nurse (RN) license.
• BLS certification required or must be obtained within 1 month of start.
• ACLS, PALS, and NRP certifications required or must be obtained within 12 months of start; TNCC encouraged.
• Minimum of 3 years of related nursing experience required.

Preferred Experience / Skills

• BSN degree strongly preferred.
• TNCC certification is encouraged and viewed favorably.
• Prior charge nurse or leadership experience in an acute care or multi-department hospital setting.
