Business Systems Analyst - Mortgage and Home Equity

Business Systems AnalystAt Regions, the Business Systems Analyst conducts business process analysis, needs assessments, and preliminary cost/benefits analysis in an effort to align information technology solutions with business initiatives. This position may function as liaison between the line of business and the Information Technology (IT) department.Primary ResponsibilitiesFormulates/defines specifications for operating software programming applications or modifies/maintains complex existing applications using engineering releases and utilities from programsAnalyzes and evaluates existing or proposed systems and devises computer programs, systems, and related procedures to process dataPrepares charts and diagrams to assist in problem analysis and submits recommendations for solutionPrepares program specifications and diagrams and develops coding logic flowchartsEncodes, tests, debugs, and installs the operating programs and procedures in coordination with computer operations and user departmentsReviews progress and evaluates resultsReports inconsistencies to the attention of management and suggest problem resolutions and business process improvementsCertain business groups may require on call support rotation after hours and/or weekendsThis position is exempt from timekeeping requirements under the Fair Labor Standards Act and is not eligible for overtime pay.RequirementsHigh School Diploma or GED and seven (7) years of related experienceOr Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of related experiencePreferencesBanking or financial services industry experienceExperience providing application support to include troubleshootingExperience with business intelligence toolsFamiliarity with agile and/or waterfall methodologiesSkills and CompetenciesAbility to plan, schedule and execute multiple concurrent activitiesAbility to work in a team environmentActively demonstrates a complex working knowledge of systems and software development concepts, practices, and proceduresAbility to research, analyze data, and derive factsExcellent communication and customer service skillsExcellent organizational and analytical skillsKnowledge of applicable testing toolsProblem solving and priority management skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.)Additional Job DescriptionSupport agile product owners in terms of feature refinement and/or user acceptance testingAct as level two support for mortgage and home equity systems helping associates solve complex problems and ensuring they have access to the tools needed to grow the businessValidate Blend and Empower functionality to ensure alignment with business requirementsConduct control testing to ensure tools meet industry and regulatory standardsAdditional PreferencesExperience with all aspects of mortgage/home equity lending from origination through post closingExperience with Blend and Empower loan origination systemThis position may be filled at a higher level depending on the candidate's qualifications and relevant experience.This position is intended to be onsite, now or in the near future. Associates will have regular work hours, including full days in the office three or more days a week. The manager will set the work schedule for this position, including in-office expectations. Regions will not provide relocation assistance for this position, and relocation would be at your expense.Regions will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position at this time.
