Controller

We're exclusively partnered with a fast-growing real estate development firm to identify their next Controller in their Austin office. Managing a robust pipeline of high-density projects, this firm offers the stability of heavy capitalization with the agility of an entrepreneurial developer . The Role As Controller, you will take full ownership of the day-to-day financial operations, corporate accounting, and project level finance for all development entities. You'll act as the vital bridge between executive leadership and project teams, ensuring highly accurate job costing, seamless lender draws, and high quality investor reporting. This role offers a direct pathway toward VP of Finance for the right candidate. You'll be responsible for: Overseeing comprehensive job costing, WIP tracking, budget variance analysis, and cash flow forecasting for active projects Leading the loan draw process, collaborating closely with GCs, architects, and other stakeholders to ensure timely funding Directing the month end and year end close processes for all development and asset management LLCs Preparing monthly and quarterly financial packages for JV partners, investors, and lenders Serve as the internal point of contact for external CPA firms Managing cash management and treasury functions Role Requirements 6+ years relevant experience, including 3+ in a leadership role specifically within a real estate development environment High proficiency in industry standard ERP software, Yardi preferred Good understanding of Texas lien laws, construction contracts and multi-entity accounting Bachelors in Accounting or Finance is required, CPA is prerferred Package Salary of $130,000 - $150,000 depending on experience, plus performance bonus Comprehensive benefits - healthcare, dental and vision, 401(k) with match, generous PTO Note to Applicants - Private and Confidential Because this position is highly confidential, our client’s identity will not be released until a preliminary phone screen has been completed by We Search People.
