Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Tele

Job Description

Job Summary:
Provide high-quality nursing care to patients in a Medical Surgical/Tele unit, supporting various surgical and medical diagnoses with a focus on patient safety and recovery. Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to deliver comprehensive care in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:

• Administer medications and treatments, including titratable drips such as Heparin and other protocol-driven infusions.
• Monitor patient vital signs, interpret telemetry strips, and respond to abnormal findings.
• Manage post-operative patients with diagnoses like neuro-surgeries, joint replacements, bowel surgeries, and sepsis.
• Collaborate with virtual admission/discharge nurses and support staff to ensure seamless patient flow.
• Educate patients and families on care plans, medication regimens, and discharge instructions.
• Titrate medications and manage equipment such as PCA pumps, ventilators, and respiratory devices.

Qualifications:

• Hold a valid RN license and BLS certification.
• Possess at least 1 year of surgical or med-surg experience, including total joint replacements and TPN/Lipids management.
• Demonstrate understanding of PCA pump operation, narcotic usage, and sepsis protocols.
• Experience interpreting telemetry strips and managing titratable infusions.
• Be comfortable working in a high-acuity, fast-paced environment with heavy patient loads.
• Have EPIC electronic health record experience.
