The Caregiver is responsible for providing professional caregiving services to our clients, helping them maintain their independence, and assisting with activities of daily living, household tasks, and family support services. Pay $20.00-$25.00 Per HourEssential Duties & ResponsibilitiesInclude but are not limited to: (Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with medical limitations or disabilities.)Assist with personal care activities, including:Baths (sponge, tub, shower, and bed bath)Oral hygieneBasic skin care and foot careHair grooming (shampoo and combing), shaving, and ordinary nail careToiletingCatheter and colostomy care (empty only)Transferring (bed to chair, wheelchair, shower, etc.)Dressing and undressingChanging diapers/briefsAmbulationMedication assistance/remindersAssist with home exercise plansAssist with household tasks necessary for the client’s health care needs, including:Planning and preparing nutritious mealsAssisting with feeding, as appropriateLight housekeeping, including linens and making the bedLaundering clothing and beddingAssisting with shoppingUse equipment and supplies safelyEngage clients in conversation, hobbies, activities, and gamesMonitor and encourage range-of-motion exercises and other procedures as instructedMaintain a written log with receipts for any client money used for purchasesReport any changes in client’s condition to the supervisorDocument care provided according to agency requirementsPerform other duties as assignedKnowledge, Skills & AbilitiesAbility to effectively interact with colleagues, clients, and supervisorsAbility to exercise good judgment and self-controlStrong comprehension and communication skillsDemonstrated enthusiasm, trustworthiness, integrity, and honestyAbility to treat clients with dignity and respectAbility to remain calm under stressAbility to operate safely in the workplaceAbility to work independently and recognize when to involve a supervisorStrong decision-making skills with the ability to analyze information and implement solutionsSelf-motivated and committed to staying up-to-date technicallyQualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentAt least one year of experience in home health careMust meet New York state requirements for caregiving servicesSafe and reliable transportation to and from client locations; must have a vehicle available during shifts for shopping needsAvailability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and holidaysCurrent (not expired) HHA certificationActive driver's licenseMust have a car available for use during shiftsPhysical DemandsInclude but are not limited to: (Reasonable accommodations may be made for individuals with medical limitations or disabilities.)Ability to lift, move, and assist clients safely.
