NYIC VISTA, Operations and Program Development @ INPS

NYIC VISTAs are AmeriCorps VISTAs who, through the New York Immigration Coalition (NYIC), engage in a year of full‑time paraprofessional service at a nonprofit host organization. They work on capacity‑building projects that enable their host to provide anti‑poverty programs and services to immigrant community members. Member Duties VISTA Placement: International Network for Public Schools, Mission: The network aims to provide quality public education for recently arrived immigrants by building a strong national network of innovative public schools, sharing best practices, and influencing policy for multilingual learners. VISTA Activities: The NYIC VISTA will support organizational development by building internal systems, resources, tools and templates (e.g., staff training, toolkits, office systems, evaluations) and program development projects (e.g., outreach, resource collection, relationship‑building, data collection, train‑the‑trainers). This capacity‑building work will support educators and schools serving public‑school students. Service Location & Living Allowance Address: 2946 Northern Boulevard, 4th Floor, Long Island City, NY 11101. Living Allowance: $32,262.
