Job Description
Are you looking for your next opportunity? AgriSompo has a unique opportunity for a Financial Accountant to support our organization.
As a Financial Accountant at AgriSompo, you'll help drive accurate, insightful financial reporting that supports the foundation of our business. You'll take ownership of preparing detailed schedules, maintaining well-organized financial records, and ensuring all company activity is accurately captured. This role also involves applying the appropriate accounting treatments and contributing to the overall integrity of our financial data.

What you'll be doing:
- Compile, analyze, and organize financial data, including transactions, costs, and expenditures
- Prepare and post journal entries in the general ledger for monthly and quarterly close cycles
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records and tie-outs to support reporting needs
- Assist the Controller with various projects and deliverables, including quarterly close presentations
- Support timely completion of monthly and quarterly financial close activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to coordinate tasks and share information
- Compile supporting documentation for internal and external audits
- Help maintain and improve internal controls to ensure compliance and accuracy
- Provide backup coverage for colleagues and cross-train others on key tasks
- Continuously evaluate existing processes to identify and implement efficiency improvements
- Contribute to the development of financial analytics to support reported results
What you'll bring:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field or equivalent experience
- Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience
- Solid understanding of GAAP; familiarity with IFRS and statutory accounting is a plus
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and general MS Office applications
- Experience with accounting software; SAP knowledge is a plus
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and math skills
- High level of accuracy, attention to detail, and ability to meet tight deadlines
- Strong communication skills both verbal and written
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with shifting priorities
- Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership and accountability
Physical Requirements & Work Conditions
Sedentary work: Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Ability to stand or sit constantly/continuously.
Hearing: Perceiving the nature of sounds at normal speaking levels with or without correction. Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, and to make the discriminations in sound.
Visual: The employee is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation of machines (including inspection); using measurement devices; and/or assembly or fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
Environmental Conditions
The work environment described here are meant to be representative of those an employee would normally encounter while performing the essential functions of this job. The physical environment requires the employee to work inside where there are limited extremes to heat and/or cold; moderate noise; a normal office environment. This position will require travel for meetings and trainings.
Compensation
Actual compensation for this role will depend on several factors including the cost of living associated with your work location, your qualifications, skills, competencies, and relevant experience.
