Contract | 15-Week Assignment | Nights | 3x12-Hour Shifts (19:00–07:30) | Every other weekend expected

Key Responsibilities

• Provide emergency nursing care in a combined adult and pediatric emergency department setting
• Perform triage, IV placement, phlebotomy, blood product administration, and central line care/management
• Manage and interpret dysrhythmias; administer continuous IV sedation, IV vasopressors, and procedural sedation
• Care for patients presenting with CVA, traumatic brain injury, spinal cord injury, neuro-trauma, ortho-trauma, and other high-acuity conditions
• Operate within a STEMI-certified and Stroke-certified facility, applying appropriate protocols
• Maintain isolation precautions and manage CPAP/BiPAP and arterial lines as needed

Required Qualifications

• Valid California RN license required at time of submission
• ACLS certification required
• BLS certification required
• CPI certification required
• PALS certification required
• Minimum 2 years of emergency room nursing experience
• EPIC EMR proficiency required
• Advanced EKG exam required prior to start: must score 80% or higher (two attempts permitted before start date; one onsite attempt only)
• Must be willing to work holidays; no time off expected during the first two weeks of the assignment; no more than 3 days of time off for the duration of the contract
• Local candidates are welcome and accepted

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Experience in a non-trauma and/or pediatric emergency department environment
• Proficiency with ICP monitoring, interpretation of ABGs, and management of near-drowning or traumatic amputation cases
• Familiarity with gunshot wound management and high-acuity trauma presentations
