Human Resources Analyst - Systems

Human Resources Analyst Jefferson County is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Human Resources Analyst to support the delivery of human resources services across the organization. This professional-level position provides guidance and support on a wide range of personnel matters and coordinates HR programs and processes throughout the employee lifecycle, including recruitment, personnel administration, training, employee relations, safety and compliance, and HR data management and reporting. The position is system‑focused, enters data in the HRIS, and maintains accurate HR records and system data integrity. It also supports process improvements and HR initiatives, and provides responsive support to departments. This role ensures compliance with applicable employment laws, organizational policies, and collective bargaining agreements, while exercising independent judgment in analyzing issues and making recommendations on human resources matters. Education and Experience HR Analyst I: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, or a related field and two (2) years of progressively responsible HR experience; OR Associate’s degree and four (4) years of progressively responsible HR experience; OR six (6) years of progressively responsible HR experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience should include work in multiple HR functional areas such as recruitment, personnel administration, or employee relations. Public sector experience is preferred. HR Analyst II: Bachelor’s degree in human resources, public administration, or a related field and four (4) years of progressively responsible HR experience; OR Associate’s degree and six (6) years of HR experience; OR eight (8) years of HR experience; OR an equivalent combination of education and experience. Experience must include multiple HR functional areas such as recruitment, personnel administration, or employee relations. HR certification (SHRM-CP, IPMA-HR, PHR, or equivalent) and public sector experience are preferred. Compensation and Benefits HR Analyst I: This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position at grade MG16. The monthly salary range is $6,336.32 – $7,792.86, depending on qualifications. HR Analyst II: This is a full-time, FLSA-exempt position at grade MG17.
