Job Title
The City of Valdez Small Boat Harbor is seeking Maintenance, Operations, & Security Technicians for the 2026 summer season.
Under supervision, this position is responsible for the security, maintenance, repair and safe usage of all harbor facilities. Under general supervision provides general grounds maintenance, snow removal, and performs general security duties of Airport, Valdez Container Terminal, and Kelsey Dock, Plaza & Uplands and all other Ports and Harbors facilities and grounds.
This is a temporary, non-benefited position working up to 37.5 hours per week through early September. This position may work a non-traditional schedule to include evenings, weekends, and/or holidays.
Physical requirements and work environment:
- Position works primarily outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Occasionally works near moving mechanical parts.
- Frequent walking and standing, sitting, climbing, stooping, kneeling or crawling.
- Must be able to frequently move or lift up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move more than 100 pounds with assistance.
Minimum qualifications:
- Must have High School Diploma or GED
- Must be at least 18 years old
- Valid Drivers License. Will be required to undergo driving history review.
This is a non-benefited temporary position.
