Director IT, Data Center & Networking

Job Description As a Solstice IT Director, you will be responsible for leading and managing global operations for the Cloud, Datacenter, Compute/Storage, Networking and Database teams. You will play a critical role in ensuring these core services are established, maintained and operate flawlessly to ensure smooth and secure operations for our business. You will report directly to the Sr. Director of IT Operations & Manufacturing Applications, who is also accountable for DEX (Digital Employee Experience), OT (Operations Technology), Site IT Support and Manufacturing Applications. This role will be based out of the Solstice Morris Plains, New Jersey headquarters. In this role, you will manage a technical team of IT specialists to ensure the reliability, security, and scalability of our foundational infrastructure. You will be instrumental in driving the organization’s infrastructure strategies, programs, and operational methodology aligning them with Solstice business objectives. Your leadership will enhance our competitive edge, mentor Solstice IT professionals, and cultivate vendor relationships to foster growth, development, and innovation. Your contributions will play a key role in laying the foundation that Solstice will grow upon as a global leader in the specialty chemicals space. Responsibilities Define and execute the vision, strategy, and direction for cloud, network, compute/storage, and database functions to support business and IT goals. Lead the design, implementation, and operations of datacenter and cloud environments to ensure high availability, reliability, and performance. Establish and enforce governance and change control processes to manage IT and security risks effectively. Oversee infrastructure lifecycle management, including hardware, software, operating systems, and maintenance planning. Drive innovation and continuous improvement to enhance operational capabilities, employee productivity, and competitive advantage. Build strong stakeholder partnerships, ensuring alignment with business needs and cost‑effective delivery of IT services. Manage budgets, cost optimization efforts, and performance metrics (KPIs/OKRs) to maximize infrastructure value. Develop talent and workforce strategies, fostering team growth, service ownership, and alignment with HR and leadership planning. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, information systems, or related field. 8+ years of progressive IT datacenter and cloud technology management experience. 8+ years of progressive IT leadership roles, including people management. 5+ years of strategic vendor relationship management. Excellent knowledge of traditional datacenter and Azure cloud services. Knowledge of datacenter consolidation and experience in migration to cloud. Knowledge of ITIL and IT Service Management. Experience managing and planning a complex operating budget. Ability to travel up 20% of time on average. Ability to balance standardization and flexibility. Pay Range The annual base salary range for this position is $201,063 – 251,622. This salary information serves as a general guideline. Solstice considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate’s work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as market and business considerations. This position is incentive plan eligible.
