Laboratory Technologist I - 90- Day Temp Contract position Position is part-time 90-day temp working 1st shift, with overtime as needed. Candidates currently living within a commutable distance of Tucson, AZ are encouraged to apply. Responsibilities Follow prescribed procedures to perform tests across laboratory specialties, including calculating results as necessary. Operate, calibrate, conduct performance checks, and maintain laboratory analyzers or equipment. Recognize and correct basic analyzer malfunctions; notify management personnel when appropriate. Prepare reagents or media from a prescribed procedure. Evaluate media, reagents, and calibrators according to established criteria. Conduct established quality control procedures on analytical tests, equipment, reagents, media, and products; evaluate results of quality control and implement corrective action when indicated. Perform instrument maintenance, QC reagents and kits. Perform routine testing. Confirm and verify results through knowledge of techniques, principles, and analyzers. Monitor quality assurance/continuous improvement programs. Monitor safety programs in compliance with laboratory regulations. Utilize laboratory information systems or other methods to accurately and effectively report patient results. Review and follow Standard Operating Procedures. Report test results conforming to established procedures. Support Eurofins CellTx’ business philosophy, leadership values, and ethics. Basic Minimum Educational Requirements Bachelor’s or Masters degree in microbiology or a related laboratory science, or medical technology from an accredited institution. Basic Minimum Qualifications Minimum 1 or more years of relevant experience in microbiology laboratory testing or in microbiology related research. Familiar with microbial organism identification, colony morphology identification, gram staining and an understanding of the BD Phoenix System . Complete fundamental understanding of testing theory, sample requirements, ability to collect information and compose intelligent specimen investigation and summaries. Knowledge of the principles, methods, materials, equipment, and techniques of medical technology. Knowledge of the principles of microbiology, chemistry, biology, and bacteriology as related to medical technology. Skill in the use of medical laboratory equipment. Capable of data analytics. Knowledge of recent developments in the field of medical technology. Competency in diagnostic microbiology techniques. Good aseptic technique. Perform instrument maintenance. Perform QC reagents needed for patient testing. Competent to perform routine testing for many tests performed within the department. Strong communication skills and analytical thinking. Ability to perform assigned tasks according to prescribed procedures and to make accurate observations and records of tests results. Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship. This laboratory carefully maintains all hazardous materials.
