Job Description:
The Process Engineer will provide onsite engineering support for pharmaceutical packaging operations at a manufacturing facility in Tennessee. This consultant will work directly with operations, maintenance, technical operators, engineering, and technical services to troubleshoot and optimize high-speed packaging lines, improve throughput, reduce inefficiencies, and resolve equipment and process-performance issues.

The engineer will evaluate how packaging equipment, automation systems, serialization technologies, and production processes interact across integrated manufacturing lines. Responsibilities will include identifying bottlenecks, optimizing equipment settings and process parameters, supporting production trials and machine testing, evaluating process changes, and implementing sustainable improvements that increase reliability, efficiency, and production output.

The consultant will also support the installation, start-up, integration, and optimization of new packaging equipment and production lines. Additional responsibilities may include serialization support, PLC and controls troubleshooting, equipment testing, protocol and qualification support, batch-record development, technical-document creation, and engineering documentation associated with capital projects.

This is a hands-on position requiring an engineer who is comfortable working directly on the manufacturing floor, responding quickly to production challenges, collaborating across departments, and driving practical solutions through completion. OSD pharmaceutical manufacturing, high-speed commercial packaging, serialization, and integrated packaging-equipment experience are strongly preferred.

Qualifications:

• Minimum of four years of relevant process-engineering, manufacturing-engineering, or packaging-engineering experience
• Experience working in a pharmaceutical or other regulated cGMP manufacturing environment
• Experience troubleshooting and optimizing manufacturing or packaging equipment
• Experience analyzing production processes, identifying bottlenecks, and improving throughput
• Understanding of integrated equipment, automation systems, and production processes
• Experience supporting production trials, machine testing, or process changes
• Ability to assess equipment and process-performance issues and implement practical corrective actions
• Experience supporting new equipment installations, start-up, commissioning, or line integration
• Ability to develop, maintain, or update technical and engineering documentation
• Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills
• Ability to collaborate with operations, maintenance, engineering, technical operators, and technical-services teams
• Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint

Strongly Preferred Qualifications:

• OSD pharmaceutical manufacturing or packaging experience
• High-speed commercial packaging-line experience
• Serialization experience
• Experience with Wipotec, TraceLink, Optel, or comparable serialization systems
• PLC, controls, or packaging-automation experience
• Experience supporting new packaging-equipment installation, integration, start-up, or commissioning
• Experience troubleshooting integrated packaging equipment and improving line throughput

Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
