Telemetry Unit-3P - Advanced Cardiac Care

Join our high-performing Intermediate Care Unit (IMCU), where you'll support a diverse and complex patient population in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. Our 34-bed stepdown unit cares for patients transitioning from the ICU, Emergency Department, and Medical-Surgical/Telemetry floors, including those recovering from cardiac surgery, requiring tracheostomy or ventilator support, or managing multiple drips and complex clinical needs.

This unit bridges the gap between ICU and Telemetry, offering a higher level of acuity than Tele while remaining just below ICU care, providing valuable experience and skill development. PCTs on this unit typically care for 11–12 patients and play a vital role in delivering high-quality, patient-centered care. Our team is known for its supportive, tight-knit culture located in our brand-new Pavilion 3, the unit features state-of-the-art equipment and modern patient rooms, creating an excellent environment for both staff and patients.

This position is a full-time Night shift working with 3-12 hour shifts from 6:00 p.m.–6:30 a.m.

We offer self-scheduling for shift and weekend coverage. Scheduled workdays may vary, as there are no set or fixed days.

Weekend and Holiday Rotations are required in this role. Weekend shift differentials are offered, along with evening and night shift differentials where applicable.

Responsibilities

JOB SUMMARY Provides patient related care tasks based on the principles of growth and development across the life span of patients served in his/her independent unit. Assists, observes, and reports patient changes to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation relative to the care delivered.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Provides and collaborates direct patient care services under the direct supervisor of a licensed caregiver. Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to personal care, activities of daily living, vital signs, intake and output, ambulation, interventions, and implementation of selected portions of the patient care plan as directed under supervisor of nurse.
• Assists, observes and reports changes in patient condition to licensed caregiver and maintains accurate medical record documentation in relation to the care delivered.
• Addresses and/or directs questions or concerns from patients, families, caregivers, or health care team members.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Education

• High School Diploma or GED Required

Experience

• Other Completion of Block 1 in Nursing OR Medical Assistant (MA) OR Nursing Assistant (NA) OR Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) OR Behavioral Health Technician (BHT) OR 6 months of experience in the healthcare setting within the last year Required
• 6 months in acute care experience. Preferred

License and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) - Certification Required
• Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) - Certification Preferred
• Emergency Medical Technician - Basic (EMT) - License Emergency Medical Tech Preferred
