TravelNurseSource is working with Cynet Health to find a qualified PACU/Pre-Post Op RN in Bridgeport, West Virginia, 26330!

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: RN Specialty: Post Anesthesia Care Unit Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12-Hour Days Hours per Shift: 0800-2030 Experience: Minimum 2 years of experience License: Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS Must-Have: PACU experience preferred, ICU or ED experience helpful Description: The unit has 17 beds and primarily focuses on Phase 1 recovery. Traveling nurses will not be responsible for covering both Phase 1 and Phase 2. Nurse to patient ratios are maintained to ensure quality care. Required certifications include BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Experience in PACU is preferred, with additional skills in ICU or ED being beneficial. The unit occasionally cares for patients on vents, BiPap, and Cpap, with respiratory therapists managing setups and rounds. ICU patients may be recovered in the unit if no ICU beds are available, and it is common to hold ICU patients overnight. RNs will be responsible for reading EKG strips, with consultations available for official readings. Self-scheduling is not allowed; shifts are designated for day and night. Each employee is expected to work three 12-hour shifts per week. Weekend call is assigned, typically once every three months, covering hours from 7 AM to 7 PM. No night call coverage is required since staff is present at night except on Sundays. Holiday call is assigned on a rotating basis, with a maximum of one major holiday each year. Response time for call coverage is 60 minutes. Regular PACU staff do not float to other units. Traveling nurses will not be required to perform PreOp duties. Scrubs are provided and managed through a vending machine system. The orientation process for traveling nurses will be modified to fit their needs.
