Job Description
The Dental Hygienist plays a crucial role in private dental offices by providing preventive oral care and promoting overall dental health for adult and senior patients. Working under the direct supervision of dentists, the hygienist performs assessments, cleans teeth, assists with treatment planning, and educates patients on maintaining optimal oral hygiene.
Responsibilities
- Conduct patient assessments to evaluate oral health status
- Perform professional oral cleaning and scaling procedures
- Take dental X-rays accurately
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices and health promotion
- Maintain detailed and accurate patient records
- Implement strict infection control protocols
- Assist in treatment planning in collaboration with dentists
- Maintain and sterilize dental instruments
- Work closely with dentists under direct supervision
Preferred Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year experience in dental hygiene
- Bachelor's Degree in Dental Hygiene
- Current State Dental Hygienist License
- Knowledge of infection control procedures
- Proficiency in record management
- Strong time management skills
