Position Purpose

Inspector Packer is responsible for visually inspecting manufactured parts coming off the production line for defects, assembling parts as needed, and packaging quality products according to policy, procedures, and ISO 9001 standards.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities

The following represents a list of essential duties and responsibilities: other duties may be assigned.

• Operate machines, maintaining productivity, efficiency, and product quality.
• Perform visual inspection and testing to ensure all products meet quality standards.
• Reporting of data collection and coordinating with process techs and/or maintenance for machine errors and understanding.
• Separate parts from runners by visually examining for: flow lines, long gates, shorts, splaying, flash, etc.
• As needed, trim and clip excess plastic from parts.
• Pick up bins of parts from shelves under molding machines.
• Provide breaks as required by the team lead or supervisor.
• Package parts in bags, totes, or boxes as applicable per work instructions.
• Palletize product per work instructions.
• Fill out QMSF-01016 Operator Reject Log according to company procedure.
• Read playbook instructions before starting any job even if you trained.
• Read work order number to identify materials and components, to use during shift production.
• Keep workstations clean and neat at all times, assist daily with building cleanness, and company GMPS'.
• Follow all SOP's GMPS Good Documentation practices to meet customer expectations with high quality standards.

Minimum Skills and Experience

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in a fast-paced manufacturing work environment. Injection or blow molding experience is a plus.
• Previous work experience shows good attendance levels, and that using effective problem-solving skills is highly desirable.

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English; knowledge of techniques, tools, machines, equipment, fixtures, and assembly procedures.
• Must have good mechanical aptitude, good problem-solving skills, and intermediate computer skills to generate reports.
• Demonstrate good judgment, decision-making abilities, and potential for growth within the company.
• Basic math skills (add, subtract, multiply & divide).
• Experience with weigh scales.
• Teamwork and communication Skills
• Physical stamina and strength: must be able to stand 12 hours per shift; must be able to lift a minimum of 15 to 20 lbs.

Physical Demand

• Light Work - Exerting up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of force greater than sedentary work and worker sits most of the time, the job is light work.
• The worker is subject to inside environmental conditions: Protection from weather conditions, but not necessarily from temperature change.
• The worker is subject to noise; there is sufficient noise to cause a worker to shout in order to be heard above ambient noise level.
• The worker is subject to hazards; includes a variety of physical conditions, such as proximity to moving mechanical parts, moving vehicles, electrical current, working on scaffolding and high places, exposure to high heat or exposure to chemicals.
• The worker is subject to oils; there is air and/or skin exposure to oils and other cutting fluids.
