Senior Data Engineer/Architect - Remote (Pittsburgh)

Genesis10 is currently seeking a Senior Data Engineer / Architect for a remote contract to hire position with a Major Healthcare Company located in Pittsburgh, PA. This position is 100% remote.

Compensation: $55.00 - $70.00 per hour, W2, based on qualifications

Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Data Engineer with strong expertise in modern cloud-based data platforms and healthcare data ecosystems. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience designing and implementing scalable data solutions using Snowflake , Azure Data Factory (ADF) , and Medallion Architecture , along with deep knowledge of data modeling best practices. Experience working with Health Insurance data is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable data pipelines using Azure Data Factory (ADF) and Snowflake.
• Implement and support Medallion Architecture frameworks (Bronze, Silver, and Gold layers) to enable trusted, high-quality analytics.
• Develop conceptual, logical, and physical data models that support reporting, analytics, and operational data needs.
• Optimize data ingestion, transformation, and storage processes to improve performance, reliability, and scalability.
• Collaborate with business stakeholders, data architects, analysts, and application teams to understand data requirements.
• Ensure data quality, governance, security, and compliance standards are met.
• Support enterprise data warehouse modernization and cloud migration initiatives.
• Analyze complex healthcare datasets and translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions.

Primary Requirements:

• 5+ years of experience in Data Engineering, Data Warehousing, or related disciplines.
• Strong hands-on experience with:
  • Snowflake
  • Azure Data Factory (ADF)
  • SQL
  • ETL/ELT development
  • Data Modeling (dimensional and relational)
• Experience designing and implementing Medallion Architecture or similar modern data lakehouse frameworks.
• Proven ability to build and optimize large-scale cloud-based data solutions.
• Strong understanding of data governance and data quality best practices.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience within the healthcare or health insurance industry.
• Knowledge of healthcare data domains such as:
  • Claims
  • Member/Subscriber Data
  • Provider Data
  • Enrollment
  • Clinical or Population Health Data
• Experience with Azure cloud services and modern data platform architectures.
• Familiarity with healthcare regulations and data privacy requirements (HIPAA).
