Location(s): Hospital: St. Vincent's Medical Center, 2800 Main Street, Bridgeport, CT 06606-4201

Position details:

• Full time, newborn nursery and hospital pediatric coverage
• Schedule: Six (6) weekday shifts and two (2) weekend shifts per four (4) week cycle. There are thirteen (13) cycles per year. Each shift is twenty-four (24) hours. For weekday shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital between 5:00PM - 10:00AM of each twenty four (24) hour shift and available via phone between 10:00AM 5:00PM. For weekend shifts, physician must be on-site at the hospital for the entire twenty-four (24) hour shift.
• Hospital coverage includes rounding on newborns, attending c-sections (both scheduled and emergent), managing photo therapy, occasional pedi consults to E.D. or floors, and stabilization of newborns for transport
• Faculty opportunity with Quinnipiac University teaching med students
• Support from neonatologists 24/7
• No circumcisions
• Hospital averages over 1,000 deliveries annually

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess:

• A passion for providing patient-centered care to a pediatric patient population
• A willingness to work closely and collaboratively within an interdisciplinary team
• An unrestricted State of Connecticut Medical License (or eligible)
• BC/BE in Pediatrics
