Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a night shift Emergency Department position requiring ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS certifications and Epic EMR experience.

Details

• General Emergency Department setting, combined adult and pediatric, at a STEMI-certified and stroke-certified facility
• Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)
• Every other weekend coverage required
• Patient ratio of 1:4
• Epic EMR used; experience preferred
• Floating to like units within scope may be required based on facility needs
• Work involves a broad range of emergency presentations including trauma, psychiatric, neurological, cardiac, respiratory, and pediatric cases

Requirements

• Valid OK or Compact RN license required
• Minimum of 1-2 years of ED nursing experience required
• Required certifications in hand: ACLS, BLS, NIHSS, and PALS
• NRP certification preferred
• Prior travel nursing experience preferred
• Proficiency with IV therapy, phlebotomy, arterial line management, central line care, and blood product administration
• Experience with ventilated patients, chest tube management, BiPAP/CPAP, and ABG interpretation
• Competency with emergency medications including IV vasopressors, IV sedation/paralytics, and procedural sedation
• Experience with cardiac monitoring, dysrhythmia interpretation and management, and 12-lead EKG/ECG
• Pediatric ED experience preferred

Additional Information

• Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility to be eligible for this position
• Former permanent staff must have been separated from the facility for at least 1 year before being considered as a traveler
• No travel pairs or groups will be accepted
• No more than 3 days of RTO will be auto-approved, and no RTO is permitted during the first week of orientation
• RTO requests must be disclosed at time of consideration
• Orientation modules are completed onsite and typically take 4–6 hours for RN candidates
• Navy scrubs are required
• 2 professional references from a supervisor within the past 2 years are required for consideration
