Responsibilities
- Oversee all aspects of corporate tax, including tax planning, compliance, and accounting for income taxes.
- Lead and coordinate the preparation and review of federal, state, and local income tax returns and other business‑related filings.
- Develop and implement effective tax strategies to minimize the company's tax liabilities and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations.
- Analyze and interpret tax regulations, develop appropriate responses, and implement procedures to ensure the company's compliance.
- Collaborate with the finance team to ensure accurate and timely tax provision and reporting.
- Advise on tax implications of business initiatives and strategies, including mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures.
- Monitor legislative and regulatory tax law developments, communicate the potential impacts to management, and develop strategies to address changes.
- Manage and coordinate tax audits and inquiries by various taxation authorities.
- Develop and mentor members of the tax team, fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or related field. Advanced degree in Taxation or Law highly desirable.
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) designation required.
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in corporate tax.
- In‑depth knowledge of ASC 980, FIN 48, FERC, USOA and other relevant tax and accounting standards.
- Proven leadership skills with ability to manage and develop a high‑performing tax team.
- Exceptional analytical and problem‑solving skills with strong attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with ability to explain complex tax concepts to non‑tax professionals.
- Strong project management skills with ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
- High level of integrity and professionalism.
