Senior Database Administrator

\"Candidates local to Jacksonville, FL. preferred\" We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Database Administrator to support and enhance enterprise data environments across multiple platforms. This role is responsible for the design, implementation, optimization, and ongoing support of mission-critical database systems in a fast-paced, production-driven environment. Key Responsibilities Define system scope and requirements through research and analysis to support new or enhanced data solutions Troubleshoot and resolve complex database and system performance issues Evaluate and implement improvements to database architecture, logic, and supporting documentation Design and recommend scalable, high-performing database solutions based on business and technical requirements Collaborate cross-functionally with engineers, developers, and system analysts to align on system capabilities and constraints Develop and maintain technical documentation to support system operations, maintenance, and enhancements Identify system limitations, risks, and impacts of proposed changes Create training materials and guide end users on system functionality and best practices Monitor, analyze, and optimize database performance, reliability, and efficiency Required Experience 6+ years of hands-on experience in enterprise database administration across multiple platforms, including: Microsoft SQL Server Oracle Snowflake Technical Expertise Database installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades Design and support of database clusters and distributed systems High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) architecture and implementation Backup, recovery, replication, and business continuity planning Database migration, consolidation, and modernization initiatives Scripting and automation (e.g., shell scripting) for database operations Performance tuning, monitoring, and capacity planning Root cause analysis and advanced troubleshooting in production environments Audit, compliance, and risk management practices Experience with monitoring tools (e.g., Oracle Grid Control, Foglight, or similar) Support of 24/7, mission-critical production systems Exposure to cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Experience with Snowflake administration and cloud-based data platforms preferred Qualifications Strong understanding of database security, governance, and regulatory compliance Onsite role supporting a highly collaborative, operations-focused team This is an excellent opportunity for a database professional who thrives in complex environments and enjoys solving high-impact technical challenges. #J-18808-Ljbffr
