OB Laborist Physician Locums Job in Iowa 24-Hour In-House Call Coverage Needed May 2026 - December 2026 Assignment

Shift Description:
24-Hour In-House Call

Requirements:
Board Certified or Truly Board Eligible
Must be licensed in Iowa or IMLC

Assignment Details:
EMR: Epic
Responsibility for managing labor and performing deliveries
Provide evaluation and management of OB patients presenting to OB Emergency Department
Manage high acuity obstetric cases, admissions, transfers, operative care, and deliver antepartum, intrapartum, and postpartum care for unassigned and transfer patients
Serve as the clinical lead during obstetric emergencies and rapid response events and remain available for OB consults
Position collaborates closely with midwives, providing consultation, delivery planning, and delivery for higher risk or complex patients
Number of exam rooms per provider: 8 bed OBED
Medical Imaging and Lab/Pharmacy: Yes
MFM will be on call There are residents but the OB Hospitalist will not be in charge of them
No GYN responsibilities
EMR: Epic
Physicians cannot work more than two 24-hour shifts in a row
