Medical Transcriptionist, Memphis, TN Be considered for a new laboratory team at a federal medical center in Memphis. CENM Healthcare, a service disabled veteran owned healthcare staffing agency, is competing for a multiyear federal laboratory staffing contract in Memphis and is selecting its proposed team now. Work is expected to begin in April 2027. This gives interested candidates the opportunity to be considered for the team well before the anticipated start date. What you will do Transcribe pathology, cytology and laboratory reports from physician dictation and voice recognition software. Proofread and edit reports for accuracy, correct medical terminology and proper format. Enter completed reports into the electronic health record within required turnaround times. You will handle patient information in accordance with HIPAA and privacy requirements and work with pathologists and laboratory staff to clarify dictation when needed. What we are looking for Medical transcription experience, with pathology or laboratory report experience preferred. Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy and pathology terminology. Accurate typing and strong proofreading skills. No license or certification is required. Candidates must live within 75 miles of Memphis and be able to provide three professional references. Selected candidates will need to meet the federal medical center's onboarding and credentialing requirements before beginning work, including applicable BLS, TB screening, Hepatitis B documentation, and background and security requirements. Tours may be up to 8 hours and may include evenings, nights, federal holidays and rotating weekends. Previous VA or federal hospital experience is a plus. Compensation and employment $22.00 to $25.00 per hour This will be a W2 position. Schedule and hours will depend on facility needs under the contract. If the contract is awarded, benefits include 11 paid federal holidays, paid sick leave, paid vacation after one year, and health and welfare benefits in accordance with applicable federal contract requirements.
