Registered Nurse (RN) - Float Manager, Pediatrics - $114K-171K per year

Job Description & Requirements UW Health is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) Float Manager, Pediatrics for a nursing job in Madison, Wisconsin. Overview Lead the planning and opening of a new General Care Pediatric unit and provide strategic leadership and operational oversight for the Pediatric Float Pool, supporting care for patients from newborn through adolescence. Responsibilities Collaborate closely with unit leaders to anticipate staffing needs, maintain competency alignment across units, and drive quality, safety, and patient experience outcomes across all areas served by the float pool. Manage staffing and budget operations, including scheduling, FTE oversight, performance management, and operating budgets for both departments. Foster a culture of adaptability and staffing flexibility to support unit needs. Work 100% FTE, day shifts M‑F with flexibility to cover off‑shift visibility as needed. Maintain staffing roster for American Family Children’s Hospital in Madison, WI. Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – required. Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or related field – preferred. Three (3) years of relevant clinical experience – required. Demonstrated progressive leadership experience – required. Five (5) years of progressive leadership experience within same or relevant practice area – preferred. RN licensed in the State of Wisconsin – required. Certification in relevant specialty – preferred.
