# Job Opportunity – Registered Nurse (RN), Oncology/Women's Surgical Unit – North Carolina**Start Date:** September 7, 2026 **Location:** Asheville, North Carolina **Compensation:** Details provided to qualified applicants **Schedule:** Med-Surg unit with 24 beds; 6 weekend days per schedule; rare on-call requirements; patient ratio 1:4 or 1:5**Highlights:** - Specialized oncology and women's surgical unit with diverse case mix including pelvic exams, echocardiograms, and thoracentesis procedures- Cerner EMR system in place with standard unit equipment- Day shift staffing includes CNC, 4-6 RNs, 2 CNAs, and HUC; Night shift includes CNC, 4-6 RNs, and 2 CNAs- Minimal floating required; when needed, limited to other med-surg units- Collaborative team environment with 42 total staff members- Contract assignment with potential for extension**Requirements:** - Active North Carolina RN License (or compact state license with ability to obtain NC licensure)- Current BLS (Basic Life Support) certification- Chemo certification preferred but not required- Med-Surg and/or oncology experience strongly preferred- Team-oriented personality with willingness to learn and adapt**Why It's a Great Opportunity:** This position offers the chance to work with a specialized patient population in both oncology and women's surgical care within a well-staffed, supportive environment.
