Title: Financial Aid Advisor Agency: Germanna Community College Location: Orange - 137 FLSA: Nonexempt Hiring Range: $44,392- $49,325 Annually, Plus Full State Benefits Full Time or Part Time: Full Time Job Description: Germanna Community College is a public, open access institution of higher education in the Virginia Community College System. The College is a dynamic learning organization that serves as a Germanna regional leader and preferred partner where quality learning experiences enable students to participate effectively in the social, economic, political, intellectual, and cultural life of their communities. Germanna Community College is centrally located in Fredericksburg, VA between Washington D.C. and Richmond and between the Blue Ridge mountains and the Chesapeake Bay. Full of history, the area offers a community rich with diversity, the arts, technology, vineyards, hiking, canoeing/kayaking, and many other activities. The primary responsibilities of this position include assisting students and families with financial aid options and processing federal, state, and institutional financial aid applications and files in accordance with federal, state, and institutional regulations. Some travel to other college locations may be required. Minimum Qualifications: Ability to work independently and analytically, exercise discretion and good judgment Ability to handle complex and detail-oriented workload Ability to work effectively with students, faculty, and staff, including those from diverse backgrounds Excellent verbal and written communication skills Proficient computer skills Strong organizational skills Commitment to working with diverse colleagues, students, and community members Additional Considerations: Experience in a post-secondary education, preferably in a community college financial aid office setting Bilingual in Spanish #J-18808-Ljbffr
