Position Summary:

This role is more than a Pastry Cook, it is the opportunity to be an integral part of our kitchen. We’re looking for a motivated culinary professional who is organized, detail oriented, passionate, and has a strong desire to learn and build your culinary skillset.

Job Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the executive chef and pastry manager to develop and execute all dessert offerings.

• Operating and managing the pastry section of the kitchen and liaising with the executive and sous chefs to ensure a successful working environment.

• Preparing ingredients and handling baking and other kitchen equipment.

• Creating pastries, baked goods, and confections, by following a set recipe.

• Decorating pastries and desserts to ensure a beautiful and tasteful presentation.

• Monitoring the stock of baking ingredients.

• Ensuring their section of the kitchen adheres to safety and health regulations.

Qualifications:

• Team Player + Positive Attitude + Passion for food

• 1-3 years experience in fine dining or casual dining in a high volume kitchen

• Strong knowledge of food and cooking techniques including pastry production, portioning, and plating

• Culinary degree in pastry strongly preferred

• Must be able to stand and walk for an extended period of time with the ability to move and lift at least 40 pounds at a time

• Excellent verbal communication and positive interpersonal skills required

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with a multicultural & diverse team

• Able to acquire a California Food Handler’s License (before or within 2 weeks of hiring)

• Bilingual is a plus
