Junior Systems AdministratorThe Junior Systems Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining the City's IT infrastructure, including servers, systems, endpoints, and enterprise applications. This role focuses on ensuring reliable system performance, managing user access, and supporting day-to-day IT operations across all departments. The City reserves the right to modify job functions at any time.Systems AdministrationBackup, Recovery & System ReliabilityEndpoint & Application ManagementInfrastructure & Network SupportTechnical Support (Tier I–III)Citywide IT OperationsDocumentation & CoordinationOperational SupportTypical QualificationsAssociate's or bachelor's degree in information technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.One (1) to three (3) years of IT experience, preferably with exposure to systems administration, network support, or infrastructure support.Ability to successfully pass a background check and drug screening and obtain and maintain Police Department security clearance if required.Valid driver's license with the ability to travel between city facilities as needed.Strong technical troubleshooting, problem-solving, communication, and documentation skills, with the ability to support users and maintain accurate system records.Supplemental InformationSkills and Character TraitsCompTIA A+, Network+, Microsoft Certified: Admin or Endpoint Administrator Associate, or equivalent industry recognized certifications.Experience with Windows Server 2025, Active Directory, and Microsoft 365 suite.Familiarity with virtualization platforms (e.g., VMware, Omnissa).Experience in municipal or government IT environments.Working ConditionsFull time position; salary with occasional after hours support. Work performed in an office, server room, vehicle bay, or field environment depending on operational needs.
