About the Position

RN – ICU Charge Float Pool

Assignment Details:

• 13-week travel assignment
• 12-hour night shifts
• 36 guaranteed hours per week
• Weekend requirement: 6–9 weekend shifts within a 6-week schedule
• Holiday rotation may be required
• Rare call/standby requirements during low census
• Schedule released 4–6 weeks in advance
• Travelers must be flexible and able to float throughout the assigned region and across various acuity levels

Floating Requirements:

• ICU
• PCU/Step-Down
• Med-Surg/Telemetry units as needed

Patient Ratios:

• Typically 1:1–1:2 based on acuity
• May flex to 1:3 when appropriate

Requirements

Requirements:

• Active RN license
• Minimum 2 years of recent ICU experience required
• Prior Charge Nurse experience required
• First-time travelers must have 3+ years of ICU experience and EPIC charting experience
• BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS, and TNCC certifications required
• Strong critical care background with the ability to manage high-acuity patients
• Experience with ventilators, CPAP, BiPAP, High Flow Oxygen, and respiratory management
• Ability to independently interpret telemetry rhythms
• Comfortable responding to Code Blue and Rapid Response events
• Must be proficient in titrating critical care medications

• Cardiovascular ICU patients
• High-acuity critical care patients requiring advanced monitoring and interventions

  • Pressors
  • Sedation medications
  • Paralytics
  • Antiarrhythmics
  • Heparin
  • Insulin
  • Other ICU infusions
• Experience caring for patients requiring:
  • CRRT
  • IABP
  • Impella
  • Mechanical ventilation
• Strong leadership and charge nurse responsibilities
