Temporary Position - JP Court Case Manager - Justice of the Peace, Pct. 2-2

Fort Bend County is seeking a temporary Court Clerk to assist full‑time staff with court administrative duties. Responsibilities Service customers; reviews and processes requests in person, by telephone, fax and/or mail. Collects and receipts fees over the counter and by mail; acts as a cashier. Inputs data into the computer data base in order for the Justice Courts to have easy access to the information. Manages civil and criminal court documents by preparing, filing, processing, entering, issuing, recording and setting dockets according to cases filed. Prepares, files, assigns, and dockets new civil and criminal cases based on office policy and state statute to ensure accuracy of filings. Maintains confidentiality and security of documents, data and courtroom proceedings. Maintains knowledge, understanding and proficiency of case management to minimize errors. Qualifications High School Diploma/GED. 2 years of job related experience within a legal system. Experience in Justice of the Peace Court preferred. Good computer and typing skills (minimum 35 WPM). Excellent research, organizational, interpersonal and written skills. Must have ability to interact with the public, employees and elected officials. This is a Temporary Position and there are no benefits included. The hours and schedule may vary based on need. Starting Salary: $25.00 per hour, hours and schedule may vary. Duration of Assignment: 90 days. Closing Date: Upon filling position.
