Controls Systems Technician

Responsibilities Perform system commissioning using Johnson Controls configuration and commissioning tools. Load system‑level controller software and perform basic commissioning and diagnostics from system‑level controllers to end devices (e.g., sensors, actuators). Truck‑solve and resolve basic HVAC mechanical, electrical, and controls problems; respond to basic warranty calls. Provide customers with a high level of service to address building inefficiencies and resolve service‑related items. Communicate with management, contractors, or customers regarding job progress and issues. Calibrate systems using basic electronic test equipment. Complete administrative tasks (time sheets, expense reports, on‑site documentation). Document changes and provide information for as‑built documentation. Follow all safety standards, attend required safety training, and maintain a high regard for employee and subcontractor safety. Provide recommendations and solutions to ensure efficient facility operation, including upselling opportunities and supporting quotes. Qualifications Minimum of 2 years of related experience servicing electronic and/or mechanical HVAC systems. Knowledge of HVAC controls systems, facilities management systems, site preparation, and peripheral equipment installation and servicing techniques. Effective interpersonal skills to represent Johnson Controls to customers and external contacts ethically and professionally. Ability to explain technical information to both technical and non‑technical audiences. Leadership skills to support mechanics working on non‑complex, non‑critical Building Automation equipment on a job site. PC proficiency and ability to program HVAC‑related software. Compensation & Benefits Hourly rate: $24.93–$32.89, based on education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities. This position includes a competitive benefits package.
