AWS/DevOps Engineer

Location: Berkeley Heights, NJ Duration: Long-term Rate: DOE

Skills and Experience Needed

• 5+ years' experience with AWS services:
• Networking: VPC / Subnets / Route Tables / VPG / Security Groups
• Compute: EC2 / Autoscaling / Load Balancers
• Database: RDS / Aurora / Dynamo
• Kubernetes: EKS / ECR
• Other: SQS / SNS / S3 / IAM / Elastic Beanstalk / CloudFront / CloudWatch / OpsGenie
• Ability to run and modify Infrastructure as Code (IaC) scripts in Terraform or CloudFormation
• Knowledge of debugging containers running in a Kubernetes cluster.
• Linux system administration the ability to manage and troubleshoot Linux systems and services.
• Experience working with third-party vendors.
• 8+ years of relevant, broad engineering experience is required.
• Able to work effectively, both independently and as a member of a cross-functional team
• Demonstrate an obsessive desire to automate as much as possible.
• Able to participate in on-call rotation.

Desired:

• Monitoring Applications: Splunk, Dynatrace
• Nginx: basic understanding of Nginx configurations and reverse proxies
• Networking: a solid understanding of routing and networking concepts
• Agile development environment
• Continuous Integration / Continuous Delivery Jenkins deployments and pipelines
• Collaboration platforms such as JIRA, Confluence, Wiki, ServiceNow
• Containerization technologies such as Docker, Pivotal
• Configuration Management tools such as Ansible, Salt, Chef, Puppet

Education

• Bachelor's degree required; relevant, equivalent work experience may be substituted for the degree requirement.
