Manufacturing Technician III, Inspection Mechanic (nights)

Job Overview This position reports to a Manager/Supervisor on the Inspection team and requires working in various controlled and non‑classified areas. The Technician performs manufacturing tasks including operating equipment, preventive maintenance, visual inspection, line clearances, OEE data collection, and batch record entry, while supporting continuous improvement activities such as 5S, Kaizen events, and manual data collection in accordance with cGMPs. Responsibilities Operate assigned machinery such as automated inspection equipment, labellers, and related monitoring systems; ensure smooth product flow. Perform preventive maintenance on Manual Inspection booths and AVI equipment when applicable. Conduct manual visual, cosmetic, and physical inspections of materials and promptly report concerns to Lead and Manager/Supervisor. Maintain visual inspection qualification. Act as a first‑line technical resource for the team. Start up equipment, make minor machinery adjustments, remove jams, troubleshoot, and assemble/disassemble for cleaning. Use material handling equipment, including motorized and manual pallet jacks and non‑motorized lifts. Perform cleaning, housekeeping, and line clearance activities to maintain a cGMP environment. Enter batch records and GMP documentation; maintain required logs and perform necessary calculations. Apply product security controls and understand material handling safety. Manage outgoing quality levels and report discrepancies to Manager/Supervisor. Follow SOPs, cGMPs, OSHA safety procedures, and guidelines. Familiarize with material safety data sheets for area chemicals. Print SOPs and forms via ECMS. Use SAP for inventory movements and order processing. Other Responsibilities Support lean activities and process improvement, including 5S, problem‑solving, and manual OEE tracking. Review operational SOPs, forms, and batch records for accuracy. Suggest process improvements while maintaining quality and cGMP compliance. Provide flexibility and support other work areas as needed. Perform other assigned duties with minimal supervision under direction. Obtain cold room training/access for material transfer. Become a certified trainer on assigned equipment and process tasks. Train and evaluate team members for training qualifications. Acquire and maintain required certifications for the work area. Continuously learn new skills and develop capabilities for team success. Work effectively in a team environment. Adapt to changing and demanding environments. Some overtime may be needed with minimal advance notice. Minimum Requirements Effective reading, writing, communication, and instruction-following skills in English. Attention to detail and ability to keep accurate records and perform mathematical calculations. Experience in industrial maintenance. Preferred Background Significant experience in a pharmaceutical or cGMP regulated environment. Experience documenting work in a CMMS. High school graduate, vocational school graduate, or equivalent. Prior production experience. Experience in a lean manufacturing environment. Knowledge of cGMPs and FDA policies/procedures. Compensation Our target base pay hiring range for this position is $24.00 – $38.00 per hour.
