Job Summary Partner with sales to provide expertise and answer questions regarding products and services. Demonstrate how product/services can solve customer issues and create sales opportunities. This position requires operation of a Company Vehicle more than 20% of the average work week. A Motor Vehicle Record (MVR) report will be run and an acceptable MVR report is required. Major Tasks, Responsibilities and Key Accountabilities Develop strategic relationships with vendors in areas such as negotiations, pricing, terms of sale, freight, and rebates. Develop new products from concept to implementation. Forecast, prospect and bid for new business, customers, markets and additional service opportunities. Provide field training and consultation to sales personnel on product information. Promote and reinforce business image as a total solutions provider. Nature and Scope Demonstrates skill in data analysis techniques by resolving missing/incomplete information and inconsistencies in more complex research/data. Requires increasing independence; receives guidance only on unusual complex problems or issues. Work review typically involves periodic review of output by supervisor and/or direct customers of the process. May provide general guidance or direction to, or train, junior level support or professional personnel. Work Environment Requires intermittent periods of continuous physical exertion such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting, and maneuvering material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward. The environment is generally comfortable but includes regular exposure to temperature extremes, moving machinery, loud noise, and fumes that may cause noticeable discomfort. Requires overnight travel more than 30% of the time. Minimum Qualifications Must pass pre‑employment assessment(s) if applicable. Education: BS/BA in a related discipline. Typically requires 2‑5 years of experience in a related field; certification is required in some areas or MS/MA with 2‑4 years of experience in a related field. Certification is required in some areas. Preferred Qualifications Experience in contract negotiation. Knowledge of customer business needs. Knowledge of municipal water and waste management. Knowledge of water distribution, water metering, wastewater collection systems. Knowledge of electrical supply and data communication protocols including 4‑20mA, RS‑232, MODBUS, ASCII encoded output, and contact closure accumulation.
