Residential Specialist 2 days ago Requisition ID: 1198 Salary Range: $18.00 To $19.00 Hourly We have a 26 bed men's residential SUD program in Mount Vernon and are looking for paraprofessional support staff to interact with patients around the clock. A great job for those working on Addiction Studies courses and preparing to become counselors. Residential Specialists serve as an integral part of a multidisciplinary team, engaging and overseeing resident activities outside of clinical activities. They provide paraprofessional supervision and support to patients in residence in alignment with the program's clinical policies and procedures, and reinforce individual service plans to maintain a therapeutically sound clinical milieu. They must demonstrate effective engagement skills with residents who have experienced substance use disorders and possible co‑occurring disorders and who are now in recovery. Residential Specialists conduct resident orientation, coordinate residents' transportation, transport residents as needed, and assign and oversee resident housekeeping duties. They collaborate with program staff to reinforce positive recovery goals and must show compassion and empathy while maintaining professional boundaries and modeling appropriate interpersonal behaviors.
