Job Summary:
The Radiology/Cardiology Mammography Technician is responsible for performing mammography imaging procedures, including biopsies, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role requires expertise with Hologic equipment and the ability to provide high-quality imaging services. The technician will work within a short-term acute care facility environment, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.
Responsibilities:
The Radiology/Cardiology Mammography Technician is responsible for performing mammography imaging procedures, including biopsies, to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. The role requires expertise with Hologic equipment and the ability to provide high-quality imaging services. The technician will work within a short-term acute care facility environment, collaborating with healthcare providers to ensure accurate imaging and patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Perform mammography imaging procedures, including screening and diagnostic mammograms.
- Conduct biopsy procedures as required, with preferred experience in this area.
- Operate and maintain Hologic mammography equipment.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort during imaging procedures.
- Collaborate with radiologists and other healthcare professionals to provide accurate diagnostic information.
- Maintain accurate patient records and document imaging results in the electronic health record system.
- Adhere to all regulatory and safety standards related to radiology and mammography.
- Certification as a Mammography Technician.
- Experience with Hologic mammography equipment is required.
- Knowledge of biopsy procedures preferred.
- Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems.
- Ability to work effectively in a hospital environment.
- Experience performing breast biopsies.
- Additional radiology or cardiology imaging certifications.
- Prior experience in a short-term acute care facility.
- No on-call responsibilities.
- No weekend or block schedule requirements.
- Position does not float between units.
- Strict adherence to safety and regulatory standards for imaging procedures.
- Standard work schedule with no weekends or block shifts required.
- Reduced Non-Billable Orientation with zero hours compared to standard 40 hours.
