Job Summary

Join a dedicated healthcare team in Juneau, Alaska, as an Ambulatory Registered Nurse specializing in Obstetrics Case Management. This role provides comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care within an outpatient clinic setting, supporting individuals and families throughout the continuum of care, with a specific focus on obstetric patients.

The successful candidate will utilize the nursing process to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate care, administer medications and treatments, perform clinical procedures, and provide essential patient education and care coordination. This position requires close collaboration with providers and interdisciplinary teams to ensure optimal patient outcomes and culturally responsive care in a dynamic ambulatory environment.

This is a vital role focused on managing the care pathways for OB patients, ensuring continuity, advocacy, and support.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive, patient-centered nursing care to obstetric patients in an outpatient setting.
• Utilize the nursing process (assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, evaluation) to develop individualized care plans.
• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately according to provider orders and organizational policy.
• Perform clinical procedures and recognize changes in patient condition, initiating appropriate interventions or escalation of care.
• Deliver thorough patient and family education regarding care plans, medications, and discharge needs.
• Coordinate care for OB patients, facilitating referrals, follow-up appointments, and continuity of services.
• Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in the electronic health record (EHR).
• Collaborate effectively with providers, interdisciplinary teams, and community resources to optimize patient outcomes.
• Adhere to organizational standards, policies, evidence-based practice, infection control, and regulatory requirements.
• Participate in quality improvement activities and maintain a clean, safe working environment.
• Advocate for patient needs and assist patients in navigating the healthcare system.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of one (1) year of recent experience in OB Case Management.
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
• High School Diploma or equivalent.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
• Case Management Certification (e.g., CCM).

• Clinical Expertise: Proficient in comprehensive patient assessment, clinical decision-making, medication administration, and recognizing/responding to changes in patient status.
