Job Opportunity

Position Overview

We are seeking a skilled Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) Registered Nurse for a Level III NICU, focusing on surgical cases with patients starting at 23 weeks gestation and older. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Shift Details

• Shift Type: Night Shift (3 x 12-Hour)
• Shift Hours: 19:00 - 07:30
• On Call: No
• Weekend Requirement: Every Other Weekend
• Float Requirement: May float to Pediatrics, PICU, or Nursery

Job Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive care for neonates in a Level III NICU, including patients requiring cooling therapy and various respiratory modes.
• Perform procedures such as PICC line insertions, bronchoscopy, and others as required.
• Manage neonatal patients with complex medical needs and collaborate with an interdisciplinary team to deliver optimal care.
• Conduct assessments, develop care plans, and implement evidence-based nursing practices.

Qualifications

• Licensure: Current California RN License
• Certifications: BLS and NRP required
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of NICU experience
• Patient Ratio Experience: Familiarity with a ratio of 2-3 patients
• Charting System: Experience with any community hospital charting system is required

Patient Care & Unit Information

• Patient Age Groups: Neonates and Infants
• Daily Census: Approximately 23 patients
• Number of Beds: 35
• Interdisciplinary Support: Access to physical therapy, respiratory services, interpretation services, radiology, social services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams.
• Special Procedures: Includes but is not limited to PICC insertions, bronchoscopy, VCUG, MRI, and swallow studies.

Compliance & Onboarding

• Completion of all required onboarding documentation and labs within specified timelines.
• A comprehensive work history verification covering the last 7 years is required.
• Modules related to the position will be completed during orientation, and may include non-billable hours.
