This position is responsible for designing and conducting experiments, analyzing and interpreting results, followed by communicating those results to both internal and external groups.This position reports to the Principal Scientist R&D and is part of the Genomic Analysis team located in Sunnyvale, CA and will be an on-site role. In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Develop new products using a combination of wet-lab and dry-lab skillsetsSupport on market Next Generation Sequencing (NGS) products as a subject matter expertPresent experimental demonstrations of products at scientific conferencesWork with cross-functional teams from new transformative technology development and product management/marketingThe essential requirements of the job include:M.Sc. in a life sciences field or related discipline and 8+ years’ experience with NGS product development, or Ph.D. with 5+ years NGS product development experienceApplying extensive scientific knowledge with broad laboratory skills to execute complex bench experiments using variety of molecular biology, cell biology, biochemical and general laboratory techniques as directed.Extensive knowledge on NGS library preparation chemistry for various NGS applications, such as RNASeq, Methylation and target enrichmentLeading complex projects that may require a multi-member team.Providing, on a routine basis, scientific support for other IDT departments; assists customer service/technical support with direct customer interaction and helping manage or leading external collaborative research projects as directed.Travel, Motor Vehicle Record & Physical/Environment Requirements:Ability to occasionally lift, move or carry equipment up to 10lbAbility to frequently work in a laboratory environment for extended periodsAbility to travel to other IDT sites or scientific conferences (< %5)It would be a plus if you also possess previous experience in:Python programming language and basic bioinformatic toolsAbility to operate automated liquid handlers and to do simple workflow modification on the system with assistance from the vendors.IDT, a Danaher operating company, offers a broad array of comprehensive, competitive benefit programs that add value to our lives. This is the range that we in good faith believe is the range of possible compensation for this role at the time of this posting. This range may be modified in the future.This job is also eligible for bonus/incentive pay.We offer comprehensive package of benefits including paid time off, medical/dental/vision insurance and 401(k) to eligible employees.Note: No amount of pay is considered to be wages or compensation until such amount is earned, vested, and determinable.
