Location: Shreveport, LA
Pay: $16.00 per hour
Schedule: Full-Time | Home Every Night | Some Travel Required

Job SummaryWe are seeking dependable, hardworking individuals to join our railroad construction team as Track Laborers . This position performs physically demanding work to construct, maintain, repair, alter, and remove railroad tracks and related structures.
You will work as part of a mobile crew under the direction of a Track Foreman. The position requires working outdoors in varying weather conditions and around heavy equipment while following strict safety procedures.
Responsibilities- Carry, move, position, and install railroad materials using hand and power tools.
- Install and remove railroad spikes, ties, rails, and other track components.
- Handle and move ballast using shovels, tamping tools, forks, and other equipment.
- Raise, align, level, and tamp railroad tracks using manual and powered equipment.
- Operate tools such as spike mauls, impact wrenches, drills, saws, jacks, and other track-maintenance equipment.
- Assist with connecting and disconnecting rail and other track components.
- Work safely alongside heavy equipment and assist with directing material movement.
- Participate in required safety meetings and follow all company safety procedures.
- Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Work independently when required and assist other crew members as needed.
- Travel to various job sites, including locations outside the immediate area, when required.
- Perform physically demanding work for extended periods.
- Stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Repeatedly bend, kneel, squat, twist, and work in awkward positions.
- Walk approximately ¼ to 2 miles per day over railroad right-of-way, rough terrain, and steep grades.
- Work in hot, cold, wet, and other inclement weather conditions.
- Work safely around moving equipment and other job-site hazards.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a crew.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal and visual instructions.
- Ability to recognize and respond to safety signals and warnings.
- Willingness and ability to learn new tasks quickly.
- Ability to follow changing safety procedures and supervisor instructions.
- Willingness to work various shifts, including weekends, when required.
- Willingness and ability to travel to different job sites, including short-notice assignments.
- Previous railroad, construction, landscaping, industrial, or heavy-labor experience is helpful but not required.
