Escrow OfficerThe Escrow Officer must believe in, practice, and initiate all Green Brick Partners values set forth in an acronym we call HOME. They must be H onest, O bjective, M ature and E fficient in how he or she approaches their role at Green Brick Partners.An Escrow Officer manages the escrow account and ensures all conditions of the sale are met before money and property change hands, serving as the primary authority responsible for guiding a real estate transaction from opening through closing. Escrow Officers oversee the accuracy and completeness of all documents, review lender instructions, coordinate with buyers, sellers, and agents, and ensure compliance with state regulations and company policies at every stage of the process. Because they are the main party responsible for all transactions, Escrow Officers must exercise strong judgment, resolve issues efficiently, and maintain clear, timely communication with all parties to facilitate a smooth and successful closing experience. This position requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environment.ResponsibilitiesKey Job Responsibilities:Serve as the primary point of contact for buyers, sellers, lenders, and real estate agents throughout the transactionReview lender instructions and prepare Closing Disclosures (CDs) for loan transactions and HUDs for cash transactionsSend HUDs/CDs to seller for approvalSend CDs to lender for approvalProvide buyers with final figures on all cash transactionsObtain, review, and analyze final loan documents; make corrections or request clarification as neededPrepare title company and builder documents for closing and ensure all requirements are satisfiedReview, analyze, and prepare the file for closingCoordinate with funders to ensure timely disbursement of funds and compliance with Texas Department of Insurance (TDI) guidelinesServe as back up closerMentor and assist in training junior escrow staffMaintain Notary Public commission in good standingMaintain Escrow Officer license in good standingParticipate in ongoing professional development and process improvement initiativesPerform other duties as assignedAuthority/Budget/Decision Making/Discretion and Independent Judgment Ability: This position carries high-level critical decision-making responsibility. They have the ability to exercise sound professional and administrative judgment and discretion and have the ability to manage a Title team. They are approved check signers and can approve wires. Escrow Officers must have their TDI license and be up to date on continuing education credits. This position has the ability to authorize a closing and the ability to stop a closing if determined by Escrow Officer the requirements for closing are not met.QualificationsExperience:Minimum 5-7 years of experience as a licensed Escrow Officer or equivalent role with another title companyExtensive understanding of Texas title insurance practices, escrow processes, real estate contracts, and regulatory requirementsExperience handling builder, commercial, or specialty transactionsStrong working relationships with lenders, underwriters, and real estate professionalsProven ability to handle complex or high-risk transactions independently.Excellent communication, negotiation, and problem-solving skillsHigh proficiency in title production software (e.g., Qualia), Closing Market, TitleWave, and Microsoft Office applicationsDemonstrated ability to mentor and develop junior staffCompetencies:Team PlayerOrganization skillsDetail orientedStrong communication skillsAbility to work efficiently in a fast-paced, high-volume environmentGreen Brick Title Total Compensation:Competitive salary and bonus programMultiple Medical and ancillary benefits401(k) with Company MatchHome Purchase DiscountPhysical Requirements: Ability to stand and walk for 4 hours straight or up to a full 8-hour day; sit for extended periods; kneel and bend at the waist; walk up and down stairs; walk on unlevel terrain; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear.
