Quality Technician-Level 1

Summary This position requires the flexibility to work 40+ hours per week and weekends. This position reports directly to the Vice President of Quality or designee. Brief Description Description Primary Job Responsibilities The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to: Follow all safety requirements. Generate Quality Notifications in the PLP Intranet Conducts product inspection and testing to ensure compliance with applicable standards. Works with production personnel in maintaining a path of continual improvement in products and services supplied to our customers. Maintain good housekeeping in lab and lab areas. Conducts inspection and testing as prescribed in the PLP Quality Manual: Perform Density, Melt Index/HLMI, and Ash tests on all incoming products. Conduct in-process inspections for pipe extrusion a minimum of 2x per shift Verify pipe dimensions on samples submitted for final inspection Perform Quick Burst and Ring Tensile, within the capabilities of the lab equipment. Inspect finished product and mark appropriately for identification of acceptance status. Job Skills Leadership, professionalism, organizational, and communication skills Experience with Word and Excel Strong focus on safety, quality customer service, and productivity Ability to operate a forklift Educational Requirements High School Diploma or equivalent Strong math skills Preferred Experience 1-2 years’ experience Previous customer service and/or warehouse experience Physical Requirements Ability to lift 75 pounds Ability to verbally communicate with other employees Ability to perform physical labor for extended periods of time in temperature extremes Ability to use hands, arms, and legs to physically handle and transport finished goods Position requires a full range of body motion, including twisting, bending, reaching, squatting, and ability to mount/dismount industrial equipment and vehicles Ability to speak, read and write fluently in the English language Must be able to withstand extreme weather conditions (especially heat) Must be able to work weekends Ability to operate a forklift Must have reliable transportation to/from work Must be punctual to work #J-18808-Ljbffr
